The IDeA Lab took part in the UNSW Research Showcases in Canberra and at NSW Parliament to communicate research on AI-generated faces, synthetic identities and deepfakes to elected representatives, parliamentary and ministerial staff, and public service stakeholders. Discussions covered the policy implications for digital identity, fraud, cybersecurity and national security, alongside UNSW research on human and human–AI approaches to identity verification.
